In 1950, one of the best and most consistent teams in the NFL was born. Led by head coach Paul Brown, the original Cleveland Browns earned 3 league championships, 7 division titles and an amazing 12 losses in the team’s first 46 seasons. During the 1980’s, the Cleveland Browns held an intimidating set of players like running back Jim Brown, quarterback Bernie Kosar and running backs Kevin Mack and Earnest Byner who led the team to 7 playoffs and 3 AFC Championship games.

Since 2000, the Cleveland Browns has yet to regain the performances of the early years. The 2005 season started and Romeo Crennel became the Browns head coach, but the team’s losing trend continued. However, the 2007 season gave the Cleveland Browns a reason to celebrate as the team made a remarkable turnaround defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-7 with amazing performances from Derek Anderson. Barely missing the 2007 playoffs, the Cleveland Browns finished the season 10-6, the team’s greatest record since 1994 when they won the Wild Card Playoffs against the Patriots by 20-13.

With a surprising turn of events last season, the Cleveland Browns may just make it to the playoffs this year. With head coach Romeo Crennel and quarterback Derek Anderson, along with free agents Jamal Lewis, Eric Steinbach and Robaire Smith, expectations run high for this year’s Browns.
